Shipping, Pricing & Return Policies for Internet Orders
If you discover a damaged shipment, THE CARRIER SHOULD BE NOTIFIED IMMEDIATELY. The merchandise should not be returned to us until notified to do so by the carrier. All packaging materials must be retained including styrofoam peanuts, inner and outer cartons, labeling, etc. for inspection by the carrier or the claim may be denied. With shipments properly packaged (as all our shipments are), the ultimate responsibility for delivery in good condition rests with the carrier.
Defective items should be returned to AES or the manufacturer for warranty repair or replacement, at the manufacturer’s discretion. After processing, we will return it via ground method, at our expense in the 48 contiguous states. If you have additional questions, please contact any of the AES stores for further instructions. It is the customer’s responsibility to return the defective merchandise to AES or the factory. The manufacturer’s warranty does not include reimbursement for freight charges.
Canadians Note: Returned equipment not originally manufactured in the U.S. will be subject to valuation and custom charges, plus custom's broker fees. Check customs before shipping anything to us, including new equipment for warranty repair. We will not accept any shipments from outside of the U.S. unless all fees are paid in advance.
We will pass on decreases in pricing to our customers whenever possible. Due to foreign currency fluctuations, promotions, manufacturers’ specials, etc. Prices may vary, so be sure to confirm prices when ordering. All prices and specifications are subject to change without notice. AES is not responsible for typographical errors or omissions.
Amounts under $5.00 are not refunded unless requested in writing to the Milwaukee headquarters within 12 months. In order to maintain the lowest possible prices, we do not offer a free trial or evaluation period on new equipment. If permitted, an authorized return of merchandise for credit (it must be like new with all original packaging) will be subject to a Minimum 15% Restocking Fee. The item must be returned within 10 days after receipt, prepaid, with a copy of the purchase invoice and a letter describing the reason for the return. No returns on antennas, towers, cable, items drop-shipped from the manufacturer, audio or video tapes, kits, books, or computer software.
If a package is refused by the customer, the actual outbound freight and actual inbound freight charges by the carrier will be deducted from the return. Any damage incurred on the way back to the shipper will be the responsibility of the refusing party.
PACKING FOR RETURN
When returning heavy, delicate, and expensive equipment, it must be carefully packed in order to avoid damage caused by normal transportation dynamics. When contents of packages are damaged, claims will be paid only if the carton and packing meet standards set in the International Safe Transit Association Procedure 1 and 1-A. These standards simply state that cartons and packing should provide reasonable protection to their contents. Ideally, contents should be suspended in the center of the carton by the packing material, no less than three inches on all sides for heavy items. For items heavier than 20 lbs., 3 in. of foam or crumpled paper should be used instead of polystyrene edge protectors. Send your package insured. When you send your well-packed parcel to AES, be sure to include a letter inside the package stating your call, name, address, e-mail address, phone and reason for return. Do not rely on information written or taped on the outside of the carton.
Shipping charges, which include adequate insurance, are based on the Order Total at the time of the initial shipment. The order amount on which charges are determined is pre-coupon and pre-tax. All back-orders from partially shipped orders are shipped PREPAID at AES expense via a Ground Service of our choosing to the contiguous 48 states only. Shipping calculations on Ground method to the contiguous 48 states have been simplified by utilizing flat-rate categories. Other expedited methods and any USPS methods are charged at regular rates without any credit for ground rates. Orders shipping to PO Boxes (including APO/FPO) will be shipped via USPS at the actual published rate plus applicable insurance. Orders exceeding ground method weight, size or value limits will be shipped via Truck or Air Freight collect. The website only estimates expedited freight charges. In certain circumstances, we cannot honor the web quote and will contact the customer to discuss other shipping options.
Shipping charges are taxable in WI, OH, FL & NV.
To insure orders arrive quickly, AES stocks items at all four locations. Occasionally, an item will be temporarily unavailable at certain branches, due to various reasons. In this case, AES will ship the order from a location that has the needed item.
